Knowing yourself and what you need to meet the child’s real needs with Adlerian self-knowledge

Cristina Sanz Ferrero M.A.

Description

It seems that we, as adults, often give children what we missed in our childhood. This causes double trouble: children’s current needs are not met but so aren’t ours either. Developing our powers of observation will help us as parents and teachers connect with each one’s real needs. This can have a very positive impact in the psychological atmosphere in the family and in the classroom.

In this session we will learn and practise some Adlerian techniques and strategies – in line with Montessori ideals- to help us develop our self-knowledge and understanding of the parenting/teaching style that we inadvertedly bring to our interactions with children as well as the basic beliefs that we created in our early years. We can recreate them.
