Montessori and Autism: Answering Your Questions

Amorette French

Description

In this presentation we will be answering commonly asked questions received about autism and the Montessori method. However, we aren’t just going to provide answers but rather help you develop an understanding that can be applied throughout your work with children to help guide you in becoming an even more prepared adult.

How do I prepare my child for transitions? How can special interests be used in the Montessori curriculum to increase motivation to learn? What is PDA and are there Montessori-friendly tips? How can Montessori truly be for all children when there are so many different developmental challenges and such wide spectrum? What strategies can I use to manage challenging behaviors? These are just a few questions we will answer and more as well as give examples of how to use materials for speech and sensitivities.
