In this LiveTalk, Dr. Caroline Robbins shows how the Montessori principles we already use with children (observation, grace and courtesy, following the child) can transform the way we support the adults in our schools and homes. Drawing on her own research, she shares a practical, research-backed way to give feedback that grows people instead of grading them, and that builds a culture of trust rather than fear.
You will learn the three needs behind every feedback conversation (autonomy, competence, and relatedness), a simple brain-based method you can use right away (a micro-yes, sticking to the facts, naming the impact, and ending with a question), how to be both kind and clear through Radical Candor, and the most common feedback missteps to avoid.
Dr. Caroline Robbins (she/her) is a public Montessori administrator, researcher, and adult-education instructor — and a former Primary guide with experience across ages 2.5 to 14, and with adults. Her doctoral research focuses on how feedback and appraisal can better serve Montessori educators and support genuine professional growth. She has presented for the Trillium Montessori Inclusion Summit, AMI/USA’s More to Discover, the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies, and the National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector.
Lucie Brixi Tamášová is first and foremost a mother of three children (and two wonderful bonus children). For more than 17 years, she has been searching for kind, practical, and research-based answers to the everyday challenges of parenting and helping make them accessible to families around the world.
She is the founder of international projects including Childhood Potential Club, Montessori Parenting, and the Childhood Potential Conference, through which she connects parents, educators, and leading child development experts from across the globe. Through her work, she promotes a respectful and conscious approach to children while helping parents navigate everyday life with greater calm, understanding, and confidence.
Alongside her international work, Lucie also leads educational projects in Kenya and Guinea through the NGO Centrum Dialog, helping provide access to quality education for children with limited opportunities. She deeply believes that conscious support of children has the power to positively shape the future of society as a whole.
