Introducing Sensorial Materials and the Natural World to Babies and Toddlers

Lidia Grecu, George Năzăreanu

Description

Sensory learning – involves discovering, understanding, and interpreting the educational content through authentic experiences, with the help of different stimuli: visual, tactile, auditory, olfactory and/or gustatory.

Sensory experiences stimulate various neuronal connections, which substantially helps babies and toddlers in their educational process, in terms of understanding, assimilation and sedimentation of the encountered information. Interaction with various elements of the natural can also help regulate various emotions and increase their well-being.

In the conference we will present a practical approach on how to introduce sensorial materials and the natural world to babies and toddlers, starting with the adaptation period, risk management, step by step plan to deepen their knowledge, and how to evaluate their evolution.
